PAEC, GCU to Improve Research Ties
Lahore:January 22:PAKISTAN Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) Chairman Dr Ansar Parvez visited Government College University (GCU) on Tuesday and it was decided that the PAEC and GCU would further strengthen research collaboration, so that the university scholars can derive maximum benefit from the equipment and expertise of the atomic energy commission and use it for the development of their country.
PAEC Chairman Dr Ansar Parvez met with Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman at the Syndicate Committee Room while PAEC Chairman Advisory Committee Member Badr Suleman, GCU Rafi Chair Professor Dr Muhammad Zakria Butt, Centre for Advanced Studies in Physics (CASP) Director Prof Dr Riaz Ahmad, Physics Department Chairperson Dr Hassan Amer Shah and Registrar Dr Akhyar Farrukh were also present.
The PAEC chairman was given a detailed briefing about the relevancy and quality of the academic programmes being taught at science departments of GCU, efficiency of research, its implementation, effectiveness, impact prospects and sustainability.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ansar Parvez said research was a key to the development of a country, adding the PAEC was looking forward to strengthen its collaboration with reputed universities of the country and its linkage with 150-year-old GCU would be beneficial for both institutions, and above all for Pakistan. He told the Vice Chancellor that he is also Ravain and has wonderful memories of research and academic work at GCU.The news.
