Muslim Scholars Stress Unity
Lahore : September 26: LEADERS of Islamic Renaissance Movements from different Muslim countries have stressed the need for joining hands by the entire Muslim Ummah for saving its existence which is threatened by global anti-Muslim forces and tyrant and dictatorial rulers acting as puppets in enemies’ hands.
Speaking on the opening day of a two-day international conference of heads of Islamic Renaissance Movements and noted scholars from around Muslim world organised by Jamaat Islami at a local hotel on Wednesday, Muslim leaders warned that Muslim people were in dire needed to get more united than before, as not only their existence but their democratic rights and freedom were being snatched by enemies and western stooges. The conference is being participated by over 40 delegates including heads of Muslim movements in 22 countries like Palestine, Egypt, Turkey, Morocco, Sudan, Syria, Jordan and Malaysia.
In his inaugural address, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawwar Hasan said the uncalled for carnage by the Egyptian army of its own citizens during the last two months had belied the claim of the west that it believed in democracy and elections. He said Ikhwanul Muslimoon which had come to power through elections after 64 years of peaceful and democratic struggle had been ousted by a military dictator enjoying full support of the west. He said the double standard of the west and the US was quite evident, as it did not allow elected governments of the Islamic movements to function in Palestine, Algeria and Egypt. JI Ameer said that Muslim Ummah was passing through a critical situation at present and the unity of Muslim world was imperative for pulling it out of the present crisis. Syed Munawwar Hasan said it was tragic that apart from the enemies of Islam, our own people had a hand in the creation of prevailing situation of the Ummah. He said that the US and Russia were chips of the same block, as both wanted to grab the Muslim world’s resources. He said that a shame court in Egypt had clamped a ban on the Ikhwalnul Muslimoon and ordered confiscation of its assets.

Addressing the opening session, Ikhwanul Muslimoon leader from Jordan Dr Hummam Saeed said the conference would send a message to the world at large that there were individuals in the Muslim Ummah who would safeguard the interests of Islam and Muslims even at the cost of their lives. Malaysia’s Hizbe Islami leader Abdul Ha’di Awang, in his address, said that a proxy war had been thrust on the Muslims and they were footing the bill of others’ war. The enemy is adopting satanic tactics to crush the Islamic movements and the Muslim leaders should be vigilant of their plans. The news.
