‘Urdu Adab Mein Insaan Dosti’ launched
Karachi:01 May:There is a general complaint these days that people are drawing away from books because of the onslaught of information technology but that just isn’t so.

These were the views of Dr Moeenuddin Aqeel, formerly of the Urdu Department, University of Karachi, while speaking at the launch of the Book “Urdu Adab Mein Insaan Dosti” by journalist and academic Akhtar Baloch at the Karachi Press Club  on Saturday evening.

Nowadays, it was common to get a degree and ignore the long-term aspects of the knowledge which boiled down to loving humanity. Love of humaity, he said, was the message of Urdu poetry through the ages.

I A Rehman, general secretary of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), said that romance in Urdu poetry was actually all about humanity. He said that love of humanity was what the world needed most today in these days of wars and destructive bickering. Quoting various figures from Urdu literature, he said Urdu literature was replete with exhortations to love all human beings. The book, he said, deals with myriads of ways to deal with humanity and love.

Professor Tauseef of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences,

and Tecnology said that Baloch had made a very vivid expose of two centuries of Urdu literature outlining the aspect of humanism. He said that his best chapter was the one on Sir Syed Ahmed and that he had taken a very realistic view of Sir Syed’s achievements and his contribution to the emancipation of the Muslims of the subcontinent. The news.
