University of Veterinary Workshop on innovation
Lahore:June 28:DEPARTMENT of Clinical Medicine and Surgery of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore in collaboration with the Pakistan Innovation Foundation (PIF) organised a training workshop on “National Innovation a Great Challenge” on Thursday.
According to a press release issued on Thursday, Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad chaired the inaugural session and said that we, especially the youth, should work on developing innovative ideas in order to face the future challenges. He said that UVAS was a pioneer institution in introducing new disciplines for the benefit of students.
He said that training workshops, seminars and conferences were frequently organised in the university for students and faculty for the practical understanding of new concepts.
He hoped that this training would motivate students to play their constructive role in generating innovative ideas and their implementation.
After the inauguration, PIF Founder and Chief Executive Athar Osama presented a brief introduction of the foundation and objectives of the training. He hoped that the participants of this workshop would have practical knowledge of innovation and problem-solving techniques.
He informed the participants that scientific innovation of Pakistan was facing three key challenges; implementation, funding and cultural, which could be resolved by using good problem-solving techniques.

 

The training was divided into two sessions; the first was on agriculture and water innovation in the context and the other on agriculture and water innovation lab.

 

The participants worked in groups and actively took part in all the sessions. The concluding session comprised brainstorming on the challenges and the possible ways for their solution.The news.
