COMPUTER SCIENCE
Establishment :
Computer Sciences related program development activities started in early 90s under the Department of Maths, Stats and Computer Science. In December, 1999, the Department of Computer Sciences was separated from Maths and Stats Department.
Introduction :
The Department of Computer Science is a newly established department in the faculty of sciences. The department has received recognition nationwide in very short span of time as the largest number of Computer Science/ Information Technology students is currently enrolled in different academic programs. Presently the department offers BS (CS) (04 years, 08 semesters) program. This program is offered in face to face teaching mode in about 50+ Approved Study Centers nationwide. Department is also offering Ph.D(Computer Science), MS (Computer Science), PGD (Computer Science) online, and Diploma in Computer Graphics (DCG) programs.
Objectives :
Our aim is to produce dynamic young professionals for computer science and information technology disciplines by developing strong academic foundation, software engineering skills and professionalism required for rapid growth in their career & higher education while incorporating values of humanism & personal integrity
Future Plans :
New specialization areas may be incorporated in future with the emerging of new technologies.

Department provide the following academic facilities:
1.Teaching & lab facility for M.Phil (Education), Women and Health Sciences, Msc (Mathematics).
2.Lab facility for M.A (English) students.
3.CS/IT Training of faculty and lower staff of university.
4.Providing Education through TV channel.
5.Providing Education through Multimedia Course CDs
