Peace and Education go Hand in Hand: Bilawal
Karachi : September 21 : In his message for the International Day of Peace, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has stressed upon integrating peace in education systems from primary to higher level as peace is the guarantee to the survival of the entire world.
The United Nations’ day of peace is celebrated every year on September 21. This year the theme of the day is “Education for Peace”.
The Pakistan People’s Party chairman said access to education was a basic human right for all children. “It is a dire need to invest a major portion of national revenues to provide educational facilities across the country.”
He pointed out that International Day of Peace demanded from both the developed and developing countries to move forward with conviction to restore long-lasting peace in the entire world. He also called for contributing generous resources toward raising a human race which was 100 percent literate and understood the importance of peace.
Bhutto-Zardari said that illiteracy bred crime, narrow-mindedness, extremism and terrorism. “These social evils can be eliminated when children are saved from rogue brainwashing and illusive fantasies by providing them proper education – both religious and scientific.”
The PPP chief asked the Sindh government to launch a province-wide campaign to re-open the schools which had been taken over by influential people, especially in the rural areas. He also called for adopting the Education for Peace theme in the curriculum and arranging special training for teachers to disseminate importance of peace and tranquility among students. The news.
