Computerised domicile facility opened at Islamabad

Islamabad:Chief Commissioner (Islamabad) Fazeel Asghar Wednesday inaugurated the facility of issuing computerised domicile certificates for residents of the federal capital.

Deputy Commissioner (Islamabad) Amer Ali Ahmed gave a detailed briefing to the chief commissioner. He said that besides issuing computerised domicile certificates, Islamabad administration has also started issuing computerised route permits for vehicles and computerised international driving permits under One Window Operation System at the Citizens Facilitation Centre at F-8 Markaz.

He said that all the computerised documents have special security features and the procedure for issuance has now been simplified and the applicants will be issued computerised domicile certificate within five days. He further informed that the new system would ensure transparency and efficiency in the working of staff deputed at the facilitation centre.

Amer Ali Ahmed said that the Electronic Government Directorate (EGD) is also working on the introduction of modules for the computerisation of data of Private Security Companies and issuance of computerised arms licenses. Chief Commissioner Fazeel Asghar appreciated the efforts of ICT administration and EGD for automation of office work and issuance of computerised documents to the residents.
