Educational sector to be given full support in Tehsil Bara of Khyber Agency

PESHAWAR: Federal Minister for Environment Hameedullah Jan Afridi has said that full support and patronage will be provided to public and private sector educational institutions of Tehsil Bara of Khyber Agency to spur the socio-economic progress of this backward area. He expressed these views while addressing a public gathering at Government high school, Jan Khan Kaley in Qamber Khel, Bara. Tribal elders of the area and concerned government officials were also present on the occasion. To solve the education related problems of girl students of the area, the Minister announced to setup an examination hall for the girls students of higher secondary level so they can be spared the misery of traveling to distant places.

The Minster also assured full cooperation in arranging training courses, furniture and equipment for government and private sector schools. The provision of college buses, renovation and up-gradation of high school of Jan Khan Kaley and restoration of the scholarships of Khyber Agency Students will be taken up on priority basis, he added. The Minister also asked for strict disciplinary action against teachers who have been absent willfully for prolonged periods. For ensuring quick and fair distribution of development funds, Hameedullah Jan Afridi emphasized the importance of local committees consisting of reliable and responsible people. The Minister stressed upon the local elders to become pro-active in articulating the development needs of their area. The Federal Minister remarked that he is constantly visiting the tribal areas to repudiate the false propaganda against the civilized and peace loving tribal people. Federal minister also highlighted the threats posed by drone attacks to the regional peace and stability. The Minister reminded that for the first time 1.5 billion rupees have been allocated for the tribal areas from the fund of Ministry of Environment.
