POOR SSC results: AJK government sacks 400 teachers
MIRPUR:10 August:The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has suspended at least 400 teachers of public schools located in different parts of the state following ‘extremely poor performance’ in examination results.
This was stated by AJK Schools Secretary Raja Abbas Khan while addressing a ceremony on Friday to announce names of successful students securing positions in the annual secondary school certificate Examination (Part-II-Composite) 2015.
It is for the first time in the history of AJK that 400 government school teachers faced the music in the form of suspension on account of their extremely poor performance,” he added.
It may be noted that the private-sector Kashmir Model College Mirpur secured distinction by securing 10 out of top 20 positions in the examination in the entire region.
The secretary expressed dismay over the decline of education quality in state-run schools and colleges in and said an inquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of the suspended schoolteachers who showed zero results.
Abbas Khan categorically declared that the AJK government has decided not to compromise on the below 60 per cent performance of teachers of state-run schools.
He also felicitated positions holders, their parents, teachers and heads of their respective educational institutes — mostly private schools — for securing distinctions in exams.
