Shahbaz Sees Off Students Going on Foreign Study Tour
Lahore : 30 June: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif saw off a 40-member delegation of talented students from all over the country who had obtained prominent positions in the examinations proceeding on a study tour to renowned universities of European countries at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
Provincial Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Minister for Social Welfare Begum Zakiya Shahnawaz, the Higher Education secretary, Punjab Educational Endowment Fund vice-chairman Dr. Amjad Saqib, the Chairman Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Lahore and the parents of the students were also present.
Addressing the function, Shahbaz Sharif said that the process of sending intelligent students to prominent educational institutions of various countries on study tours was started by the PML-N government in Punjab during its previous tenure. The process would continue, he added.
He said that the first delegation of the brilliant students from Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan and Azad Kashmir was going to visit prominent universities of Germany, Sweden and UK today.
The chief minister said that imparting training and education to the bright stars of the nation, enhancing information and providing resources for equipping them with modern knowledge was such a useful investment due to which the country and the nation would be able to achieve the goals of development and prosperity.

 

Shahbaz Sharif said that the male and female students had been selected on merit for visiting prominent universities of the world and this was the reward of their hardworking and abilities. He said that the students going abroad were ambassadors of Pakistan and they had to improve the image of Pakistan through their character, act and hardworking. He said that the students visiting prominent universities of European countries would get an opportunity to see educational environment and culture there and their knowledge would increase.
Replying to the questions of media persons, Shahbaz Sharif said that elimination of electricity crises had been given priority in the manifesto of the PML-N. He said that the former rulers committed criminal negligence by intentionally delaying the Nandipur project.The news.
