Toba tek singh : August 13: The Punjab government has formed a district committee to ensure admission of children to schools.
The body is comprised of DCO (convenor), all assembly members of the district, colleges deputy director, DPO, education and community development EDOs, district monitoring officer, district information officer, district officer (literacy), local government assistant director, ACs of all four tehsils and representatives of different NGOs. Education EDO Muhammad Ismail and district monitoring officer Asif Ali Dogar informed here in a press conference on Monday that survey teams approached 310,000 families in the district under universal primary education programme for finding out of school children of 5 to 9 year of age in the district and it was found that in Toba district there were more than 51,000 children of school going age of 5 to 9 years who were out of schools. They also stated that 82 senior headmasters of government secondary schools had been deputed as focal persons in each union council of the district to ensure 100 per cent admission all the out of school children in the district. DCO Dr Farah Masood will inaugurate admission campaign of the said children on August 14 while this drive will continue till October 31.The news.
