Private Colleges not Following Rules
Lahore:July 01: THE Young Doctors Association (YDA), Pakistan, has said that due to negligence of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), 26 private medical and dental colleges have not created seats for postgraduate training in their respective teaching hospitals.
According to a press release issued here on Sunday, YDA Pakistan General Secretary Dr Salman Kazmi said that according to the rules of PMDC and CPSP, these colleges were bound to give paid training to their graduates. He said that these private institutions were also bound to provide free treatment to 50 per cent of their patients, which they were not doing. The YDA has appealed to Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to look into the matter and direct the departments concerned to ensure that all the unpaid doctors get their salaries after creation of seats in public and private sector medical colleges of the province. The news.
