BIEK 18 Caught Cheating on First Day
Karachi:April 23:The annual examinations of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) began on Tuesday at 108 centres in the first shift and at 87 centres in the second shift.
On the day, the vigilance teams constituted by the board caught 18 students for cheating.
Their answer sheets were confiscated and their cases were referred to the vigilance committees.
The BIEK has declared 13 exam centres as most sensitive, where police and Rangers mobiles were planned to be deployed.
Power outages in various centres created much trouble for students, who are taking their exams in one of the hottest months of the year. The BIEK had requested K-Electric to exempt the exam centres from electricity cuts.
Speaking to the media, Controller Examinations Imran Chishti said: “We have prevented the leaking out of question papers by preparing five different papers. On the day of the exams we can decide to dispatch any set of the question papers.”
A total of 270,000 students have been registered to take exams in the morning shift, while 75,000 students will be accommodated in the afternoon shift. The news.
