Private Schools Given one Month to Start Teaching Sindhi Language
Karachi:August 24: Sindh Senior Minister for Education Nisar Ahmad Khuhro has given one month deadline to all private schools in the province to duly observe the compulsory education rule of teaching Sindhi language to the students, as these institutions have been found not following the laws of the government and the resolutions of the Sindh Assembly.
Speaking at a meeting of senior education and curriculum wing officials on Friday, Khuhro said that the registration of such private schools, which would fail to start teaching Sindhi language in due course of time, would be subjected to cancellation.
He called upon the education officials to ensure that all the private schools in Sindh, including Karachi, should be teaching national language, English, and mother tongue (Sindhi) as the first language (compulsory) as like the education policy of the neighbouring India.
Khuhro directed the education directors and in-charges at district level to prepare reports of such private schools found violating the government rule of teaching Sindhi language as compulsory.
He also directed the provincial curriculum wing officials to revise and update syllabi of different subjects of school-level education keeping in view the latest scientific advancements and socio-economic environment of the country with particular reference to the revival of democratic and constitutional governance in the country.
