Working Folks Grammar School KARAK

KARAK: Parents of Working Folks Grammar School and College students have expressed concern over the declining standard of education in the institution and have demanded of the minister for labour to stop politically motivated recruitment in the school.

A grand Jirga of the parents of the entire district was held here on Thursday at Town Hall Karak, with the former All Teachers Association, Karak President Malik Noor Wali Khan in the chair.

Addressing the jirga, Malik Noor Wali Khan, former district naib nazim Haji Akbar Badshah, former councilors Ali Marjan and Younas, Coal Mines Federation President of Chakwal district Naveed, Dr Rostan and Liaqat Ali said the school had been established for the education of the children of labourers, but this right had been usurped due to alleged political interference.

They said the government was spending Rs2.5 million on the transportation service provided to the students for pick and drop on monthly basis but the service being provided to the students was substandard and the contractor was earning million of rupees on monthly basis from Karak, Lakki and Kohat schools but spending very little on the transportation. They demanded raising the boundary walls of the school for security reasons to provide protection to the students. The news
