Iranian musicians perform FJWU

Rawalpindi:The Iranian cultural troupe Friday amazed the audiences with their fabulous performance at Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU).

They played different traditional and famous musical instruments of Iran like ‘Santor’, ‘Ta’r, ‘Kamanchi’, ‘Tarbus’ and ‘Duf’. The musicians’ delegation was led by Wajeehullah Ahangar comprising Mehmood Anis Gul, Hasan Bakhi, Muhammad Ali, Hussain and Hadi.

Mehmood Gul was the lead vocalist while Hadi played ‘Duf’. The musical group of Iran is on visit to Pakistan as a part of Nauroz celebrations to welcome the spring season. Iran has a splendid history of thousands of years, which is culturally rich and holds impressive traditions in music as well.

The group mesmerised the audiences with their beautiful performance. A large number of students and faculty members were present on the occasion and enjoyed the cherished performance, especially the folk songs. At the end of the music function, Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Professor Dr Samina Amin Qadir presented university souvenirs to delegates as a token of appreciation. The news
