Imperial College Lahore launches charity initiative

Lahore: Dusk to Dawn is one of the many charity and community development projects created through the Leadership and Community Development Program (LCD): a 4-month course at the university headed by Badia Raza, a senior member of the Imperial College of Business Studies (ICBS) faculty.

The goal of Dusk to Dawn (project members: Salman Arif, Maryam Zahid, Maryam Arif and Salman Maqbool) was to recondition the status of 10 houses on Fazal Street, Garhi Shahu. The group attained sponsorships from private companies to repair the houses' interiors, cement work, maintain cleanliness and provide house-hold fittings - heaters, fans and interior lighting. Clothes (jackets, sweaters, shalwar-kameez suits) were also distributed to the families to aid them during the winter. The group of four also visited Ayesha Public School on numerous occasions to deliver lectures to the children on daily health and safety-related issues. Daily Times
