City School Mehfil-e-Milad
Rawalpindi:Islam has stressed on social welfare. As a Muslim, it is our responsibility to indulge in welfare work and support those who have financial constraints. These views were shared by MNA Nuzhat Sadiq while speaking to children at a Mehfil-e-Milad at The City School, Nursery Branch, Civil Lines.

She said that among all good deeds taught to children, they must also be advised to work for the betterment of humanity, right from a tender age, so that when they grow up, they find ways and means to empower the poor and help them become useful citizens of society.

Regional Director The City School Mrs Safia Cassim and Regional Academic Coordinator Mrs Itrat Rubab Haider were also present at the event that was attended by a large number of mothers, sisters and grandmothers of the schoolchildren.

The students participated in the ‘Mehfil-e-Milad’ with enthusiasm. The little boys of Nursery to Class II were dressed in white ‘shalwar kameez’ and light pink caps, while the girls were also dressed in white dresses with light pink dupattas. The children distributed ‘misri’, cardamoms and flowers among the guests.

The students of Playgroup presented ‘Meetha Meetha Hai Mere Muhammad (PBUH) Ka Naam,’ Nursery class presented ‘Noor Wala Aya Hai,’ Kindergarten recited ‘Shah-e-Madinah,’ Jr-I presented ‘Mein So Jaon Ya Mustafa Kehte Kehte’ and Jr-II recited ‘Maola Ya Salli Wasallim’. One of the mothers, Mrs Sadia Zaheer, presented a beautiful ‘naat’ that was appreciated by the audience. The programme ended with ‘salaam’ in which all teachers and children participated and ‘dua’ that was recited by the headmistress. The news
