Punjab University Signs MoU
Lahore: July 03:PUNJAB University Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (Sociology) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), a leading agency which embodies the spirit of public-private-partnership to address multi-dimensional issues of poverty, for exchanging expertise in various areas of mutual interest.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday, an MoU signing ceremony was held at committee room of Vice Chancellor’s office in which PU VC Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Director Institute of Social and Cultural Studies (Sociology) Prof Dr Muhammad Zakria Zakir, PPAF Chief Executive Officer Qazi Azmat Esa and poverty alleviation expert Ahmed Nadeem were prominent among the participants.
While briefing on the agreement, Prof Dr Zakria Zakir said that the ISCS had introduced a highly-demanded subject of MSc Development Studies in which they taught students how to reduce poverty.
He said that under the MoU, the ISCS would provide professional training to the PPAF experts, and PPAF would provide a practical platform to the ISCS students for poverty alleviation in the country. He said the agreement aimed at the materialisation of the idea of university-society and university-industry relationship.The news.
