Punjab University Conference on Rehabilitation
Lahore:July 05:A National Conference on Resettlement and Rehabilitation was held at the Institute of Social and Cultural Studies, University of the Punjab, the other day.
With Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan the chief guest, the inaugural session of the conference was also attended by Senator Jehangir Badar, MPA Ramesh Singh Arora and MPA Mehr Muhammad Kashif Padhiar. Other participants included development experts, resettlement specialists, policy makers and senior administrators representing various institutes and organizations across the country. Speaking at the inaugural session, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zakria Zakar, Director Dept. of Sociology, explained the philosophy and objectives of the conference, highlighting the importance of inclusive and equitable development which comprehensively takes care of the marginalized sections of society. Prof. Dr. Mujahid Kamran, Vice Chancellor, congratulated the ISCS for arranging a national conference on such an important national issue.
