Shahbaz Distributes Rs 42.2m Among Toppers
Lahore : August 18: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that the young were an asset of the nation and the government was providing maximum resources for equipping them with education.
According to a handout issued here, the CM expressed these views while addressing a prize distribution ceremony held in the honour of position holders in the matric examinations of different educational boards at Chief Minister’s Office, here Saturday. The chief minister distributed cash prizes of Rs 42.2 million among the position holders of nine boards of Punjab, 12 students of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa, Balochistan, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Federal Board Islamabad while two students of Daanish School. An amount of Rs 16.8million was also distributed among teachers. Shahbaz Sharif said that the Punjab government was distributing prizes of worth millions of rupees for the encouragement of male and female position holder students continuously for the last six years and the process would continue in future as well.


Shahbaz Sharif has sent provincial ministers to various districts for supervising relief and rehabilitation activities in flood hit areas of the province.


Meanwhile, Iranian Consul General Muhammad Hussain Bani Asadi met Shahbaz Sharif here on Saturday and discussed matters of mutual interest.The news.
