Lahore: October 04: MINISTER for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Ata Muhammad Manika has said the future of Pakistan is linked with education and by promoting education all evils including poverty, ignorance and terrorism can be rooted out.
He said life of the persons like Hakeem Saeed was a beacon of light for us who served the nation and worked for the promotion of education and training of new generation. He said philanthropists should follow the footsteps of Hakeem Saeed and play their role in the promotion of education in the country. According to a handout issued on Thursday, the minister expressed these views as chief guest at a ceremony held regarding the services of Hakeem Muhammad Saeed in education sector at Hamdard Center on Thursday. President Hamdard Foundation Pakistan Mohtarma Sadia Rashid, prominent analyst Intezar Hussain and a large number of students from different schools were present. Addressing the ceremony, Ata Muhammad Manika said Hakeem Muhammad Saeed had realised for a long time ago that equipping our children with education was necessary for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. He said while following the footsteps of Hakeem Muhammad Saeed we would have to equip our children with the modern scientific education along with religious knowledge.
Intezar Hussain also spoke on the occasion. Meanwhile, students of different schools paid tributes to the efforts of Hakeem Saeed for the promotion of education. At the end, the minister gave away gifts to the girl students who addressed the ceremony.The news.
