Varsities told to focus on modern teaching techniques
ISLAMABAD:04 October:With the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic changing the way classes have been taking place, research and innovation in teaching methodologies have become even more important.

This was stated by the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) President Dr Hathal bin Homoud Al-Otaibi while addressing the concluding ceremony of an international conference on “innovation in teaching, learning and distance education and e-learning” which discussed policies, pedagogies and current level of access to the digital world.

Organised by IIUI’s education department, around 150 papers were presented by renowned national and international experts and researchers of the field of education on innovation in teaching, learning, distance education and e-learning. International experts from the US, Ukraine, Malaysia, Gulf states, Austria and Canada virtually participated in the conference.

Dr Al-Otaibi said that IIUI is committed to working hard for delivering quality education and producing knowledge in line with the aspiration of the Muslim world.

He maintained that e-learning and innovation are the salient needs of education in the future.

Prof Dr NB Jumani, a renowned online teaching distance learning expert and IIUI’s vice president for administration, finance and planning, spoke the department’s two journals on innovation and e-learning and distance education adding that both of those have been international hailed and recognised.Published in The Express Tribune,
