Lahore High Court directs Punjab University to give fourth chance to MBBS students

Lahore: Justice Umar Atta Bandial of the Lahore High Court on Friday directed the Punjab University (PU) to provide a fourth opportunity to five students wishing to appear in the MBBS (part I) examination.

The students, including Mahforoogh Dehghani, an Iranian, Noor Akhirah, a Malaysian, and Lubna Khan, Madiha Hanif and Faiza Liaqat, Pakistanis, are all students at Fatima Jinnah Medical College. In her petition, Dehghani submitted that after failure in anatomy and biochemistry, the college authorities had struck her name from the rolls on January 10, 2009. She said the Punjab governor issued a notification on November 23, 2007, deciding that four chances would be given to the students. Daily Times
